What to know about the book

Gina DeVee is a leading entrepreneur for women looking for growth in business ventures, spirituality, and *her unique perspective on* how to be your best SELF. She discusses different archetypes and how they are sabotaging our growth and how to become the Queen we all have inside.

Through her own life experiences she has been a coach to women for growth and belief that their capabilities exceed their personal limits.

Determination has allowed DeVee to shed the previous conditioning of who we think we are or should be for others to live truly for ourselves.

Her voice shines through in the book as she’s witty and occasionally loud, in a great way!

She emphasizes that as a Queen we shouldn’t dim our own light due to other women. There is room on the stage for all of us. To be ambitious regardless of what others think.

As women, we are capable of anything and we need to remind ourselves that we are in control of our own destiny.

My journey reading the book

When I began reading this book, it was right after I read Discover Your Dharma by Sahara Rose, and I didn’t finish it. It was written differently than Rose’s book, and I couldn’t get myself to fully release my new mindset to open up to another that was so strong.

However, once I finally read it in 2022, it opened up my mind to a whole new way of thinking.

It taught me to stop punishing myself for wanting to manifest a life of material items. Nice house. Luxurious car. Traveling with no budget in mind. Allowing my partner to be a stay at home husband.

#holisticbutmaterialistic

Whatever the choice, it’s been consistently different from my childhood. The audacity to even want to do better or receive more than I was given, really hindered my growth.

Gina DeVee wrote about her life in a way that I could connect to. She also grew up in the midwest and came from little. She didn’t allow the expectation of having a “normal” career stop her from growing her coaching business into a multimillion dollar company, so why should I?

The experiences we find ourselves, could be connected to our archetypes. Now, you may have heard this word ‘archetypes’ through other teachings pertaining to our personalities, she puts her own twist on them. She’s not saying it’s a personality type. She’s actually saying it’s more like who you become in the moment.

For example, her whole idea of assuming the worst rather than just reaching out to ask the employee what their intentions were can cause more stress in these triggering situations. Be forward in what you want to ask and what you need to know.

She calls this archetype Paranoid Gangster. Which I connect with TOO much. I always think everyone is out to get me and that everyone is against me. Like if you catch yourself in it, you need to stop and think about it from their POV.

The ability to recognize these triggering moments takes a lot of work. However, being able to name them creates a dissonance in your mind.

Hear me out. You aren’t a Paranoid Gangster because you’re always paranoid, but it is who you are at the moment. Once you can recognize your Paranoid Gangster is showing, you can converse with it, to rationalize the situation. Discuss it among each other.

Materializing your negativity can help you realize that it’s not who you are, just your insecurities taking charge in a moment of uncertainty.

Gina DeVee dives into…

…concepts such as social conditioning, codependency, and money manifestation (really so much more). I was aware of these terms, but the way she describes each made me connect to the smallest of triggers.

When I realize I can and should do better than I was given, I can work on my conditioning. When I realize I rely on the opinions of those around me, I’m able to take a step back and follow my intuition.

When I have $5 left in my bank account because I poured my life savings into my dream, I manifest the finances to push forward.

She also gives ways to better work through them. Exercises at the end of every chapter help guide every woman who needs it to have the audacity to follow their purpose!

She thrives on her own intuition and confidence. She’s aware that she’s capable of anything she puts her mind to.

This book is a love letter to women who need a push to become their best selves. To know that it’s okay to not love your life all the time. As long as you’re intentionally living for yourself, you’ll always love your life.
