When it comes to the inner self, discovery is one of the most important aspects to find. Discovering who you are is a truly incredible, freeing experience that allows for you to live out your purpose. Your purpose is what brings your soul alive. Allows for a life that feels truly aligned and yours.

The definition of purpose, according to Google, is “the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists” and “have as one's intention or objective.”

I say that your purpose is what drives your soul. I don’t really even mean your career or your labeled purpose in this life, I mean what makes your soul feel safe, connected, or energetic.

For me, my purpose is sharing knowledge while I continue to learn more within the specific fields I love to talk about. Whether that’s aspects of SELF or awareness or holistic healing. I truly feel it’s what I’m meant to do and who I'm meant to be. It wasn’t until I dove deeper into my purpose and values, I was able to allow my soul to feel energetically at peace.

Below I’m sharing 3 self-help books that will guarantee to help your self-discovery journey in a holistic way. Aka you get 1 book for mind, body and soul!

For your body:

Discover Your Dharma by Sahara Rose

Sahara Rose is a leading spiritual coach for which Deepak Chropra calls a “leading voice for the millennial generation into the new paradigm shift.” As she has a 400+ running podcast with over 25 million downloads, she is also an author of 3 books. One of which is a workbook yogic journal that guides you through multiple stages of holistic healing.

She practices Hinduism's Ayurvedic medicine and healing practices in her teaching. This includes the connection of mind, body, and soul. Understanding how to utilize these concepts of this long traditional healing medicine can help you become more aligned within your inner self.

Rose’s book is a beginners vedic guide to understanding the main points in Ayurveda such as dharma, dosha, and chakras. She also offers her own versions of archetypes, which are connected to our personality and purpose.

The best thing about Sahara Rose is her dedication to holistic living. You can see the way she embodies her work in her instagram, podcast, and coaching. You can take a quiz on her website that’ll connect you to your proper dosha type and archetype!

Read this book if you’re ready to transform your body through holistic being.

Ready to embody what life is about.

Ready to heal your SELF through balancing all aspects of your body.

For your mind:

The Audacity to be Queen by Gina DeVee

Gina DeVee’s work is based within the field of business that can intersect spirituality and living life as your best self.

I absolutely loved her use of archetypes. Unlike Rose who’s archetypes were a base of our personality, DeVee’s archetypes were versions of ourSELVES throughout our growth (or moments of sabotage).

She dives into concepts such as social conditioning, codependency, and money manifestation. I believe she uses this work as a way to connect to those wanting to do bigger things than they previously believe they can.

“A Queen confidently communicates her desires without needing the vast majority of the popular vote.”

The best time to read The Audacity to be Queen is at a point in your holistic journey when you’re ready to take life into your own hands by finding your purpose or values, learn manifestation through life experiences, and grow to being your best SELF (even if that means materialistically, despite what social media may depict those within the field).

For more read The Audacity to be Queen post!

Read this book is you are ready to embody your fullest potential.

Ready to disregard all previous conditioning and become one with your mind and soul.

Ready to realize your ultimate manifestation can be literally whatever YOU want your SELF to have.

For your soul:

The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown

At no surprise Brene Brown has graced her presence on this list (as she does basically every list of mine), for discovering one’s purpose or values in life.

As a fellow researcher I can appreciate the way  she presents information throughout her work. The biggest thing that this book can teach you is how to heal your soul through cultivating authenticity through connection with those around you. Also, authenticity is your chance to live your true purpose. Throughout she uses the research of experts to connect her own on how to cultivate your best self.

Honestly, if you were going to read only one book out of all the self-help books out there, this will forever be my recommendation!

Read this book if you are ready to heal your soul by leaning into vulnerability and connection through compassion for others and yourself.

Ready to dive into your most authentic self through deliberate actions of intentional living.

Ready to learn the gifts of being imperfect and how it’s courageous to continue being yourself.
